Monday, July 18: Door County Coastal Byway- Door County Coastal Byway Project: Liberty Grove’s Coastal Story, following a general meeting, Museum Barn, 7 pm. Plenty of parking and seating available.
The 2022 LGHS season’s programs celebrate Liberty Grove’s rich rural farm life, harvesting of natural resources like trees, rocks, and fish in coastal villages and urban entrepreneurs. A unique program will be presented every 3rd Monday of the month in the white Museum Barn, June – August, at 7 pm and is open to the public.
Join Door County Coastal Byway Chairperson Ann Miller as she presents the story of the iconic Door County Coastal Bywayblue kiosks which is part of the official Wisconsin Scenic Byway. This 12 kiosks 66 mile loop leads visitors through Liberty Grove and Northern Door County along Hwy 42 and 57. Each kiosk telling the story of area’s unique past concerning the early settlers, rare plant species and how industries like agriculture, fishing and logging shaped Door County’s culture.
Five kiosks are located throughout Liberty Grove and Sister Bay: Koepsel’s Farm Market, downtown Sister Bay on the waterfront, our own Liberty Grove
Historical museum grounds, Grandview Park and Port des Mort Park.
The story behind the Door County Coastal Byway project began in 2008 and efforts are underway to upgrade the website. Please consider becoming a DCCB Website Sponsor at https://doorcountycoastalbyway.org/.
