On July 8, 2017, the Circle of Honor and Heritage Walkway was dedicated.
In 2019, engraved bricks honoring past Fire Chiefs and founding EMS members were installed in Section 8 of the Heritage Walkway, next to the Circle of Honor, on the LGHS Museum grounds. Due to COVID, the First Responders Walkway Dedication Ceremony was postponed to August 29th, 2021. The entire length of the Heritage Walkway was completed in 2021, with blank bricks installed to make the walkway safer for our visitors. In fall 2023, LGHS installed a granite pedestal and medallion to mark the First Responders memorial in the walkway. LGHS wants this memorial walkway to be a historic place to thank all First Responders, past and present. View additional photos from the First Responders Walkway Dedication Ceremony here.
The Liberty Grove Historical Society’s Circle of Honor, First Responders, and Heritage Walkway continue to draw people each year to our Historical Society museum grounds. This will remain an ongoing project, so you haven’t missed out on being part of this excellent addition to the LGHS museum grounds. An engraved brick with your family name(s) or Liberty Grove experience can be added and still be part of Liberty Grove history. Please consider donating an engraved brick to honor a family or individual for their service.
