DESCRIPTION:Monday\, Aug 5: Volunteer Picnic – Museum Barn\, 6 pm \nAll of our wonderful volunteers are invited to join the LGHS Board Members for a picnic dinner at the Museum barn as a thank-you for their much-appreciated help throughout the season. \nOur Volunteers are the backbone of the Liberty Grove Historical Society and help is needed in all areas. Please consider volunteering for any one of our annual events or in an operational role. Many volunteer opportunities are flexible and done from home. Your help is so important to preserving our local history. Please use the Contact Us form or email one of the Officers listed on the Contact LGHS website page. \nAll events are subject to change. For the most current event information find us on Facebook.com/libertygrovehistory. \n  \nAdditional 2024 Programming and Events \nSpring Potluck Meeting is Monday\, May 20\, 6 pm located at the Town of Liberty Grove Hall. All LGHS members and anyone considering joining are invited to attend. \nJune\, July and August monthly evening programs capturing local history will be presented every 3rd Monday at 7 pm following a general membership meeting in the white museum barn. Charlie Henriksen– Henriksen Family Continues Liberty Grove Commercial Fishing Traditions will be presented on June 17; Wills Store- It’s a Small Town!: True Romances & Adventures will be presented by Mel and Ingrid Nelson Lawrenz on July 15 and  Mertha Fulkerson: The Arc and Legacy of an Exemplary Life will be presented by Jennifer Taylor on August 19. \nThe 24th Annual “Lake to Table” Fish Boil Fundraiser is on-site in the barn on Thursday\, June 20\, from 4 – 8 pm. \nMuseum 2024 Season Opening Day is Saturday\, June 22 with extended hours 10 – 4 pm. Members of the Forest County Potawatomi Community from Northern Wisconsin will help us learn about the Traditions and Cultures that helped these first people survive for hundreds of generations\, endure forced migration from their homes in the 1830s and renew their communities. \nAntique Tractor & Arts Festival is a 2-day weekend event\, July 27 – 28\, 10 – 4 pm. \nVintage Market Days are Saturday\, August 10th and September 14\, 10 – 3 pm. \nGustave’s 1887 Lodge on-site tour is presented by Annie Miller\, on September 16\, 4 pm. \nFall Color “Photo Op” Day is Saturday\, October 12\, 10 – 3 pm and the last day the museum buildings will be open for the 2024 season. \nFall Potluck Meeting is Monday\, October 21\, 6 pm located at the Town of Liberty Grove Hall. DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, August 10: August Vintage Market\, Museum Barn\, 10 am – 3 pm \nFirst chance of the season to enjoy a unique shopping experience in the Museum Barn for our unique items at our bi-annual Vintage Market and help support LGHS\, meet local people and view the beautiful museum grounds. A wide selection of estate and vintage items will be available for a suggested donation. \nDon’t forget to mark your calendar for another chance at the September Vintage Market\, Saturday\, September 14\, 10 am – 3 pm. \nCome for the shopping\, but stay for the history and scenic Grandview grounds. Plenty of parking and seating available. \nInterested in donating items or setting up a booth? Please contact Linda Wilkinson at flowerlinda@msn.com.  To set up a booth\, we ask for a $10 donation. \nAll events are subject to change. DESCRIPTION:Monday\, Aug 19\, 7 pm: Mertha Fulkerson: The Arc and Legacy of an Exemplary  Life presented by Grandniece Jennifer Taylor. \nPlease join LGHS and Grandniece Jenn Taylor as she shares her family stories about Mertha Fulkerson. Mertha was Co-founder of The Clearing Folk School with Jens Jensen who influenced environmental preservation throughout the Northern Door. In some circles\, Mertha is credited with saving the fledgling school after Jensen’s death. Jennifer Taylor promises us that there is so much more to this iconic Door County Artist\, Educator\, Preservationist and Environmentalist. \nAll LGHS programs follow a short membership meeting. Merchandise benefiting LGHS will be available. All programs are free and open to the public with plenty of on-site parking and seating. \nAll events are subject to change.
