SUMMARY:June Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Program: Losing the Dark: How do We Protect our Dark Skies? \nBefore artificial illumination\, our ancestors inhabited a world profoundly different from the well-lit nights of our modern world. When darkness descended\, the natural world could be a realm of wonder\, imagination\, and a deeper understanding of the universe and the rhythms of our planet and ourselves. Join Beth Bartoli\, Natural Resources Educator at Newport State Park\, as she discusses the effects of losing our dark skies and what can be done about them. Learn about what it took to have Newport State Park designated as Wisconsin’s first and only International Dark Sky Park. \nElection of Officers \nRecognition of the 2025 Don Overby Volunteer Appreciation Award:  Lee and Ruth Telfer
